Hear from the dancers

The word "Ceili" refers to an Irish social dance event with set dancing, ceili dancing, or both and possibly other types of dances such as the waltz and polkas. Originally, a Ceili was an informal gathering among friends and family where dancing, storytelling, singing and socializing took place. In this way, the history and values of a community were passed on from generation to generation. Today, our teachers continue to keep this tradition alive.

Through weekly classes, adults and students of all ages come to learn and pass on these wonderful folk dances of Ireland. Classes are offered at on Tuesday's at the Canadian/American Club in Watertown, MA from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Wednesday's at Concannon's Village in Norwood, MA from 7:00 pm to 9 pm. Please come and join Sally Harney as she guides adults and students through a series of new and old Ceili sets. Click here for directions.
